Born in 1971 in Kent, England, Michael was drawn towards
design at a young age. In 1989 he received his diploma in
Product Design from the Kent Institute of Art and Design.
After taking time out to travel through Europe, Israel and
Northern Africa, he went on to Wolverhampton University
where he discovered his affinity for glass blowing and love
of the craft. The graduate program at Illinois State
University brought Michael to the United States. In May
1998, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree.
Michael began building the Hot Glass Studio he designed for
Kokomo Opalescent Glass in September 1998. He worked as the
Studio Director until October 2007, designing and gaffing
functional blown glass while continuing to develop and
exhibit his sculptural work.
Michael is currently working as an independent artist,
creating functional blown glass works and mixed media
sculpture.
